Dr. Md Mamun Bin Ibne Reaz is the Vice-Chancellor of the Islamic University of Technology (IUT), Gazipur, Bangladesh, a subsidiary organ of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC). He is an accomplished academic leader, researcher, and institution-builder with more than twenty-five years of experience in higher education across Bangladesh and Malaysia. He earned his PhD in Science and Engineering, majoring in VLSI Design, from Ibaraki University, Japan, and holds BSc and MSc degrees in Applied Physics and Electronics from the University of Rajshahi.
Before joining IUT as Vice-Chancellor, he served as Professor at Universiti Malaysia Perlis, Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia, and Independent University, Bangladesh, where he also held the position of Dean of the School of Engineering, Technology and Sciences. His research spans VLSI design, embedded systems, biomedical sensors, AI-enabled systems, and smart technologies. He has authored more than 400 refereed publications, managed over 75 research grants, supervised numerous postgraduate researchers, and has been repeatedly listed among Stanford University’s World’s Top 2% Scientists. Prof. Reaz brings to IUT a strong vision for academic excellence, innovation, international collaboration, and technology-driven development across the OIC community.
